The Happy Tooth is proud to introduce the Planmeca Plan SCAN/CAD CAM and Planmeca Plan Mill
What is the Planmeca Plan SCAN/CAD CAM?
Basically it is an in-the-mouth camera/scanner.
The camera allows your dentist to take mouth models with out using Alginate material.
Now, if you have ever had a mouth model taken, you will know it can be an uncomfortable few minuets.
The Dentist will take the scan of your mouth and it will appear in a sophisticated Dental software.
How can you and our Patients benefit from this?
This sophisticated Dental software sends your scans to the Planmeca Plan Mill and we can make Crown’s, Bridges, Inlays and Onlays.
What is the Planmeca Plan Mill?
It is a High precision milling unit, meaning it cuts blocks of stone and turns them into your Crowns, Bridges, Inlays and Onlays.
The block of stone on the left is placed into the machine and the Crown on the right is what comes out.
The Mill takes around about 20 mins to make/cut your Crowns, Bridges, Inlays and Onlays.
After Milling your crown is then glazed, fired in a furnace (just like pottery) and then can be cemented into your mouth.
What does this mean for you?
The major benefit for you and our Patients is one day appointment for Crowns, Bridges, Inlays and Onlays.
In the past, it has taken up to 2 weeks for your work to come back from an off site Dental Laboratory.
In most cases you can have your new tooth in around 2-3 hours!
Please ask your Dentist, if this is an option for you.
